This winter in Sydney has felt brutal. My winter coat from London has even made an appearance a few days so it almost seems fitting that a new pub has opened up that is a little bit of London, down a Sydney back alley.
Looking for somewhere we could see Vivid without cold and crowds, I stumbled upon Bar Patron. On the old site of Cafe Nice and the pop-up Ananas, Bar Patron is the latest restaurant from the Rockpool Group in collaboration with Cafe Patron. The Mexican themed menu and variations of magheritas looked pretty good so off we headed.
I know that I’m slow off the mark to get to Tramshed at Harold Park. Let’s blame the broken ankle… But this week, I needed to have some post-Christmas catch-ups with my bestie and still days out from the new year, we went in search of fried chicken. Belle’s Hot Chicken to be exact.
I’ve been gallivanting around Europe and ended up working from our London Office for a week. The night before I left was a little crazy so Friday lunch needed to be a soul restoring affair. Thank god for Billy and the Chicks!
I found myself on a Sunday at a family catch up in Dulwich Hill when my brother’s finance’ suggested that we check out the newly opened Tella Bar on the way home.
There are plenty more food adventures to come out of the USA (you don’t think I’d stop at one restaurant do you?) but I want to detour quickly by popular demand to the newly arrived Kensington St. Social.
I’m a bit late coming to the party on this one. But post-Christmas and desperate for something other than ham (I know you’re all shocked by admission but please pick yourselves up off the floor), a friend and I ventured for a decent burger and ended up at Mary’s Newtown.
It’s no secret, I am a fan of a food truck. And I’ve been on a mission lately to eat as much Asian food as possible (especially since we’re back to San Francisco shortly for some more Mexican) so when I heard Belly Bao had set up shop in GoodGod Small Club, it seemed natural that I would be found there on a Thursday evening.
So here I am in San Francisco! So far, I’ve not really been eating out as the large portion sizes at breakfast mean that I’m not really having to eat again during the day but, like a muppet, I forgot my face cream which meant that I took a drip to Marina on Sunday and found Over The Moon.
I seriously think that one could plan a trip to Brighton and eat nothing but coffee and cake all weekend. The cafe culture in Brighton is fantastic and I was extremely happy when on a recent Girls Weekend we wandered into Bertie’s.
